wA11y

wA11y = "web a11y" or "web accessibility"

Web accessibility refers to the inclusive practice of removing barriers that prevent interaction with, or access to, websites by people with disabilities.

wA11y.org is a new initiative to contribute to web accessibility by providing information, education, resources, and tools.

But we can’t, and shouldn’t, do it alone.

The vision for wA11y.org is that it will bring together developers, writers, educators, and other web professionals who are passionate about accessibility to advocate for its importance and increase its implementation and education.

We are looking for:

  • Anyone interested in contributing blog posts, tutorials, and other helpful content
  • Anyone interested in helping build curriculum to teach accessibility standards and practices
  • Anyone interested in developing evaluation tools
  • Those who have an existing accessibility tool or resource that they'd like to promote/include
  • Anyone interested in helping evaluate accessibility
