Nicknames are funny.  Most of the time they're given to us by others.  Sometimes it's a shortened version of our original name, like Ray is short for Raymond for instance.  Other times it's based on a characteristic or something that stands out about us, like for instance....this guy.  Ever since he got his eyes checked, now his friends call him 'Specs.'  Hey may or may not like it, but it stuck.
